News: Place To Work Together |
 |
|
Indian musicians and Pakistani singers have found a place to work together - the internet.
After Mumbai went up in flames on 26/11, Pakistanis who were performing in India had to put on hold all such activities. Their shows were cancelled, their CDs in Mumbai stores were trampled on by right-wing groups and even Indian singers and musicians wondered if this track that had stretched across the boundary was, after all, worth it. Five months hence, harangue has given way to harmony. Indian music directors and Pakistani singers have found a way to work together - via internet. Artists are working online to make sure that work does not stop and productions are not delayed.

News: Laila with Babark Shah |
 |
|
What's with Babrak Shah? His on-again off-again relationship with Veena has become one big media circus. A press conference was held by the couple claiming their undying love for each other and the next moment that love went out of the window when Veena was spotted with cricketer Mohmmad Asif. Now comes the news of Babark's closeness with Laila. The duo was spotted getting extra chummy with each other during a filmi evening. As is the norm, Laila denies any relationship with Babark, giving run-of-the-mill stance of being 'just friends'. However, the filmi folks have another story to tell. They insist that this is a lame excuse to get back at Veena and make her jealous. Hmm... well, darlings, haven't we heard that one before!

Tall and slender Iman Ali of Khuda Kay Liye fame was in Dubai recently, attending the opening of Studio 8 as designer HSY's muse. In an exclusive interview, she talks about the state of Pakistani films, her idea of a challenge and her unusual fashion mantra.
Did offers come pouring in after Khuda Kay Liye?
Absolutely not. Considering the current state of affairs in Pakistan, making a film is the last thing on people's minds.
I had two offers from India, but things didn't materialise after the relationship between the two countries soured. I would love to do a comedy where I can dance too.
What do you think of the way our heroines dance?
After Madhuri, no one in Bollywood can dance. Rani was good at some point and Priyanka can dance a bit. But no one else.
