| Kites and string will be available at markets for the city's residents after Friday prayers, as shops will open and people will be free to purchase Basant-related accessories, MusicPakistan.net learnt on Thursday.
This was decided in a meeting of Kite Flying Association (KFA) officials and Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) Taimur Azmat Usman. The association also held a meeting with District Coordination Officer (DCO) Sajjad Ahmed Bhutta.
For the first time in two years, the city's citizens would be allowed to celebrate the spring festival of Basant by flying kites. People across the city have welcomed the decision of celebrating Basant. However, the Punjab government has only allowed Basant Celebrations on March 14 and 15.
