News: Javeria playing blind girl in Ankhain |

Renowned
TV actress Javeria Abbasi
is performing the role of blind girl in drama serial "Ankhain" a private sector
production.
She is the central figure in this drama, Arif Khan is the director of the play
while story was written by Zubair Abbasi.
The cast of the drama includes, Saba Faisal, Nahid Shabir, Saleem Sheikh, Benish
Chohan and Agha Hayder.

Naseem Vicky has decided to make his own film and is busy with the preparations.
According to details Naseem Vicky had himself thought the central idea of the
film and the movie will be a comedy. Suraj Baba was busy in writing the script
of the movie. Naseem Vicky said
he would make a different movie with a strong budget while actors like Nasir
Chinioti, Zafri Khan, Iftikhar Thakkar, Sardar Kamal, Sana, Maumar Rana and
Javaid Sheikh will be part of the cast. He said more than 70 percent of Indian
movies were comedy movies and all managed to do good businesses. After the completion
of the script he would formally announce the film, he told reporters. The recording
of the film will start in the end of May, he added.

News: Indo-Pak co-production jannat to premiere in May |

LAHORE:
Premiere show of the film "Jannat", a
joint production of Pakistani and Indian film industries, will be organized
on May 13 in which actors Imran Hashmi, Sonal Chohan, Muhaish Bhutt and Mukaish
Bhutt will make their appearance. On the occasion other renowned personalities
belonging to showbiz will also be invited.
Film "Jannat" is going to be released on May 16, all over the world
including Pakistan.
The publicity campaign of the film has been started while the premiere show and
the music launching show of the film have already taken place in India.

News: Rafi Peer Theatre launches international mystic music festival |

Rafi
Peer Theatre Workshop (RPTW) in collaboration with Telenor Pakistan has announced
launch of the annual International Mystic
Music Sufi Festival (IMMSF) 2008 with its main part to be based in Multan,
the city of saints and shrines.
Briefing newsmen about the festival Faizan Pirzada, Usman pirzada and MD telenor
Javed Jaffer said RPTW and Telenor Pakistan will also tour with extensions of
the show to Islamabad and Karachi with a three day performance in Lahore. This
is the fifth annual Sufi festival organized by RPTW. The festival will take place
in Multan from April 24 to 27 at the Old Stadium while the debut was held on April
21 at the National Institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage (LokVirsa) Islamabad.
From April 25 to 27, the performances will be presented in Lahore at the Peeru's
Cafe. In Karachi, the festival will conclude on April 30, at the Beach View Barden.
Each show will start at 8:30 pm. The festival brings to Pakistan a rich variety
of Sufi music, both foreign and local. The featured groups will hail from Iran,
Egypt, Algeria, Afghanistan, Morocco, Spain, France, Syria, India, the US, and
Pakistan. There will be special performances by Pakistani artists, Atta ullah
Esa Khelvi and Abida Parveen. This is the first time that the festival will tour
in 3 major cities apart from the base city. Through the Sufi Festival, we look
forward to highlighting the culture, the traditional warmth and hospitality of
Pakistan so visitors take back wonderful memories. Faizan Peerzada, Director,
Rafi Peer Theatre Workshop said, "We are hopeful that such festivals with
devotional practices." The idea for the touring festival is based on sufism's
message of peace and unity and the fact that, in today's world of increasing division
and disparity, the message of Sufi music should be heard throughout the world.
Sufi music has the ability to cross all geographical, national, religious, and
language barriers, and should thus be used as an instrument of spiritual renewal
that, in today's world in increasing division and disparity, the message of Sufi

News: Naseebo Lal tax defaulter |

The
Income Tax Department clutched the famous singer Naseebo
Lal to investigate her assets. According to details, the Income Tax officers
of film Circle have formulated a detailed report of the Punjabi singer's assets
claimed five years ago.
She was accused of concealing her real assets and hiding her yearly income to
avoid any taxes. The department claimed that she had not paid a single penny of
income tax for last five years. The investigation will be completed and notice
would be served to Naseebo Lal which would direct her to provide the actual details
of her assets and property, officials added.
